I let out an almost imperceptible ‘aah’ as my eyes take in the magnificence of the tree's trunk. I see beauty in the patchwork of soft colours and hues, sketched over by the larvae of the scribbly gum moth. I see beauty in the charred sections from past bushfire and the shed strips of brown bark and dried Eucalyptus leaves at its base. I give this moment with the tree my full attention and my mind is quieted. – CS
